Deep-sea fishing

-         improved fishing luck with deep-sea fishing...

Deep-sea fishing is extremely popular Northern Norway, and this is where the big catches are landed. At the best spots, it′s common to get a bite every third or fourth cast. Malangen Fjord is known for its plentiful fish stocks and you can catch many fish species. Cod, coalfish and haddock are the most common, but ling and halibut also exist. If you′re having a good day, exotic species such as catfish and plaice also bite.

Hire a boat from Malangen Brygger and venture out to the deep waters where the really fish are. With the aid of an echo sounder, you will soon find areas where the chances of a catch are high. Fishing with a spinner, hand line or rod is permitted virtually all year round along the entire coastline - and fishing in the fjord and sea is free. This also applies for salmon, sea trout and Arctic char if you are using a rod.

If you don′t like being in a boat or at sea, you can fish from the shore, including from the wharf at Malangen Brygger.

Deep-sea fishing is possible all year round (subject to ice conditions) and this is an ideal activity for lovers of nature, the great outdoors and fishing.

Malangen Brygger hires out boats, fishing tackle, life jackets and survival suits. When hiring a boat, guests must sign a safety declaration form. Guests have free access to the fish cleaning and freezing facilities at Malangen Brygger.
