"Mølje" excursion

-         Treat yourself to a boat trip with good fishing and good food...

If you are looking for a genuine "mølje" excursion with self-caught fish, Malangen Brygger now gives you this option. The voyage is aboard Biskop Hvoslef, a veteran sailing vessel built in 1933 for search and rescue. The boat is well equipped (two toilets, shower and 10 berths) and is certified to carry 23 passengers. The crew on this boat knows where and how you can get a good catch!

You will quickly discover the excellent and "traditional" atmosphere thanks to our pleasant and experienced crew and not least the historic vessel, which is not equipped with modern fishing tackle. After a few hours, you will arrive at the fishing ground and the coast will be but a stripe on the horizon. Now it′s time to fish. It′s about getting your hook down towards the sea floor, where hopefully the cod will be waiting at a depth of around 100 m. As a rule, only a short time passes until the first bite and spawning cod will soon be hauled on board. The North Norwegian delicacy of mølje is assured.

The Biskop Hvoslef has a well-equipped galley and fresh mølje will be prepared on board. In this way, the table will be set and you can enjoy a good meal right after your fishing experience at the fishing ground. After the exertion and impressions from a day′s fishing mixed with a delicious dinner of mølje (fresh cod, liver and roe), you can relax and enjoy the venerable vessel′s sleep-inducing rocking.

The trips are customised to meet your own requirements and wishes, but we will of course only too happy to assist with the planning. The duration of the trip is up to you and you can choose a day trip or several days on board. For overnight excursions, we recommend a trip from Thursday to Sunday so you get the most out of the trip as it takes several hours to get out to the fishing ground. Participants must supply their own sleeping bags, toiletries and suitable clothing (boots, rainwear, oilskins etc.). You may also bring your own hand lines or deep-sea fishing rods. At the end of the trip, any catch is divided among the participants.
